In the decades since the beatles ’ 1970 breakup, the group’s rise and fall has been told as a myth. It’s also been told via children’s story, salacious gossip, dry history, detailed diaries, technical manuals, cartoons, and graphic novels. There are volumes dedicated to their recording equipment, encyclopedias chronicling all of the music and film the group has yet to release, collections of the photos from before they were stars—basically, if you can think of an idea related to john lennon , paul mccartney , george harrison , and ringo starr , it’s been published. This constant trickle of books can overwhelm even steadfast beatlemaniacs, but the greatness of the music has also drawn out greatness within authors.

Spare a thought for the poor souls who created the sleeves to the beatles’ album. The problem, y’see, with designing covers for arguably the greatest band of all time is, no matter how mind-blowing the artwork you sling together, it’ll always be overlooked for the music within, like kids tearing into wrapping paper on christmas morning. Da vinci himself could have been stuck the mona lisa on ‘revolver’ and it’d still have been passed over by fans yelping “yes, nice sleeve leo, but how about that mad backwards sitar solo on ‘i’m only sleeping’?!?†the covers to each fab four album, however, are integral parts of those records, capturing the feel and fun of each chapter in their evolution to 21st century icons. Here’s the story of how each album cover was made….
9. WITH THE BEATLES
The beatles themselves finally got fed up with what was happening to their albums, and with the way capitol completely changed rubber soul i can't blame them. Still, everyone got angry about the musicians voicing their opinion on the cover, so it famously got changed. The good news is that all the music on here is excellent - simply because it's most of the best parts of the albums that came before it, but for some reason was cut out. "drive my car", "nowhere man", "if i needed someone" and "what goes on?" are some of the best tracks from rubber soul, and there was no reason to leave them off the u. S. Version. Coming on the heels of the previous album, at least it gave u. S. Consumers a way of assembling it properly, even if they had to do it on a mix tape.

3. THE BEATLES (A.K.A. ''THE WHITE ALBUM'')

Exactly a week ago, on 09. 09. 09, the entire original beatles catalogue was re-released in a new digitally remastered format. True fans might be willing to spend $180 to buy the beatles stereo box set , but i’ve got a treat for everyone else. I obviously can’t the music without a hefty lawsuit, but can share the high resolution album artwork that i received in the official beatles press kit. If you are listening to your favorite beatles tracks on an ipod, zune, or other media device; throw in the official artwork to brighten things up! ( apple itunes and windows media player will allow embedding the artwork into your music. ).

I’ve also tried to limit the selections from any one album like the i am sam soundtrack or rubber soul anniversary tribute. This isn’t a complete discography or an exhaustive account of every repackaged and rereleased track. I don’t cover every out-take and post-beatles recording on this page. These beatles records and films were produced in less than 8 years, alongside: 4 years relentless touring around the world up to 1966; regular television and radio work, recordings and appearances;.

The four normally squeaky clean beatles had dressed in smocks resembling butcher’s garb with dismembered dolls and pieces of meat dripping crimson. It was supposed to be a bit of fun.
