Pink floyd‘s legendary singer and bassist, roger waters shared an announcement on instagram regarding the release of his documentary ‘us + them‘ on blu-ray and dvd. As you might recall, on october 2, 2019, icon roger waters released his concert film, ‘us + them,’ all around the world. The film portrayed the live tours of roger waters in 2017 and 2018, which consisted of 156 shows to 2. 3 million people. The digital release of ‘us + them’ was made on youtube on june 16, 2020.
Purchased in 1970 after his previous instrument was stolen on tour, roger waters’ precision bass almost matches gilmour’s black strat at the time, although both instruments would be extensively reworked later. Throughout the recording of dark side of the moon, waters modified the bass by adding a charvel neck with a maple fretboard, as well as adding a set of kluson tuners to the new neck for extra stability.
Billboard touring awards: roger waters, neil diamond, bruce springsteen win big.

Some bands turn into shorthand for a certain sound or style, and pink floyd belongs among that elite group. The very name connotes something specific: an elastic, echoing, mind-bending sound that evokes the chasms of space. Pink floyd grounded that limitless sound with exacting explorations of mundane matters of ego, mind, memory, and heart, touching upon madness, alienation, narcissism, and society on their concept albums of the '70s. Of these concept albums, dark side of the moon resonated strongest, earning new audiences year after year, decade after decade, and its longevi.
I used to follow floyd back in the day. Consequently i received this book as an xmas present. I wasn't that keen on reading it at first, but once i started, i couldn't stop! it provided an interesting insight which would have better informed those schoolboy debates around the relative merits of barrett vs gilmour, and more. I was also surprised to find it very well written, and interesting! so much so i bought another copy for my sister. We were lucky enough to see the floyd perform dark side of the moon at the empire in liverpool in about 1924 (or it seems like it - 'then one day you find, ten years have got behind you' it was a very long time ago anyway). Pleasantly, surprisingly, good read. If you were ever into the floyd in the 70's, you will find it interesting.
