Above is the video preview, but in a nutshell; this video teaches you how to conquer the tricky technique of playing rhythm and chords/melody at the same time. The video is broken down into a series of etudes that teach (in a musical, usefulway) the finger coordination you need to play the later pieces presented. The pieces include the traditional “cocaine bluesâ€, arrangements of “nine pound hammer†and “cannonball ragâ€, as well as a fast rockabilly style 12-bar blues with some fun “turn-the-corner†licks. All in all, a full fingerstyle course meant for the advanced beginner to intermediate player. Knowledge of basic chords is required.

More than words was written by american funk-metal band 'extreme' and it appears on their classic album 'pornograffitti'. Extreme wrote the song in 1991 and it's gone on to become the band's biggest hit, reaching number one in the u. S. A, canada, new zealand, belgium and the netherlands. Nuno bettencourt is the guitarist for extreme and a shredder at heart, more than words is certainly a detour from his usual style of playing.
Have you ever dutifully practiced your scales, as shown to you by a guitar teacher or in a book and wondered what is needed to turn it into real music? vibrato and bending are two great techniques that will help to bring your guitar playing alive. Think of any accomplished lead guitarist - all of them would use vibrato and bending at some sta.
I am new at learning to read and play music. This book with the cd and dvd provides excellent tools to learn and test your performance as you progress through the book. The writing is clear and the progression of the material is well paced. Great advice on finger placement to improve the efficiently of chord changes in different situations. I find the dvd a little awkward to use given the tools i have on my pc. The cd is an excellent tool to play along with. Great to improve skills at counting notes and keeping time. I put the tracks on my mp3 player put the ear buds in practice practice practice.

So you may be asking, what’s the big deal about chet atkins? when i first started becoming obsessed with learning the guitar i kept reading article after article about chet atkins and how he pioneered this or influenced that. And to be honest, when i heard my first chet atkins album (my dad’s), i wasn’t immediately blown away. I thought it sounded clean and simple and… well, nice. It wasn’t until i analyzed what was actually going that i began to realize what a genius he was.
Dan gets right down to business in this book. The books i learned on 50 years ago taught you to practice scales--no mention of what to do with them. The chords were taught separate from the scales, like here memorize these. Even now a lot of arrangers don't list the chord above the notes--in jazz you hope you're figuring them out right. But this book here puts the puzzle together with all the tricks usually showed by friends. I bought this to help out some friends and learned a few things to. It was a good buyat a affordable price.
